This 6-foot-7 Argentinian is considered a playmaker more than a scorer. Most recently, he has played at the Spanish club level.
His point totals haven’t been overly impressive and he’s not labeled as a pure shooter. Across 24 total games involving three leagues in 2019-20, his cumulative scoring totals were at less than 8 points per game.
He has been playing at the professional level in Argentina since he was 16 years old. He has been a member of age-level national teams and been on a track for a spot in the NBA draft.
Observers list him among the most highly regarded of the international crop of players in the 2020 draft.
Bolmaro will showcase skills that make him seem more like a guard than a forward, though he’s cast in the forward position. Some teams might be intrigued to use him as a guard and see if that creates matchup issues for opponents.
His slender build (185 pounds) might be of concern. He turned 20 years old in September. Bolmaro seems unfazed by playing with an aggressive knack. His defensive instincts have rated highly, but those will have to translate to matching up with different types of athletes in the NBA. He has been tested in a variety of situations and has put together a decent foundation.
He’ll definitely fall into the mold as a project for a team willing to give him a chance.
