The Philadelphia Eagles acquired veteran defensive end Robert Quinn from the Chicago Bears for a fourth-round draft pick on Wednesday.
Both teams confirmed the terms of the deal but added that Quinn must pass a physical for the transaction to become official.
Quinn, 32, has just one sack in seven games this season after setting a Bears’ single-season record with 18.5 last season.
He stayed away from minicamp and offseason workouts in search of a contract extension but eventually reported in July. He is in the third season of a five-year, $70 million deal.
Bears linebacker Roquan Smith broke down in tears during a news conference when informed about the trade.
The 12-year veteran has 102 sacks and 32 forced fumbles in 163 career games (142 starts). He is a three-time Pro Bowler, earning the honors for the then-St. Louis Rams in 2013 and 2014 and with the Bears last season.
Quinn has just eight tackles in seven games this season. He has 367 stops and 176 QB hits during his career.
Quinn played for the Rams from 2011-17 (the final two seasons in Los Angeles) before stops with the Miami Dolphins (2018), Dallas Cowboys (2019) and the Bears.
He recorded a career-best 19 sacks for St. Louis in 2013.
Quinn joins the NFL’s lone unbeaten team in the Eagles (6-0). Philadelphia is tied for 10th in the NFL with 17 sacks.
