Tyson Fury defeats Deontay Wilder by TKO, retains WBC belt

Tyson Fury retained his WBC heavyweight title with a TKO over Deontay Wilder in the 11th round Saturday night in Las Vegas.

With the win, Fury also wins the trilogy between the pair.

Fury (31-0-1, 22 KOs) decked an exhausted Wilder (42-2-1, 41 KOs) for the third time on the night and the referee stopped the bout at 1 minute, 10 seconds of the 11th without a count.

Wilder had knocked down Fury twice earlier in the fight.

“I’m made of pig iron and steel, baby,” Fury said after the fight, crediting Wilder as being the “second best” heavyweight in the world. “I’m not gonna make any excuses. Wilder is a tough fighter, he gave me a real run for money tonight.”

The pair fought to a split draw in their first fight in 2018, with Fury recording a seventh-round TKO in February 2020.
