After an illness required hospitalization before Sunday’s game in Cincinnati, Ravens cornerback Brandon Stephens is back in Baltimore, the team announced Wednesday.
Stephens reportedly became “acutely ill” while at the team’s hotel before the game, requiring transportation to a Cincinnati-area hospital for evaluation and treatment.
He remained in the hospital for further treatment even as the team returned home after a 27-16 loss to the Bengals, but a team statement said Stephens is “feeling better and in good spirits.”
The team did not reveal any further details about the nature or extent of Stephens’ illness. His status for this Sunday’s wild-card playoff game — again against the Bengals in Cincinnati — could be updated when the Ravens release their practice participation report later Wednesday.
A third-round pick in 2021, Stephens, 25, played in 15 regular-season games in 2022, making four starts. He had 37 tackles, seven passes defensed and a half-sack.
