Atlanta United FC acquired striker Miguel Berry from D.C. United in a trade Tuesday.
In exchange for the 25-year-old, D.C United will receive up to $250,000 in general allocation money.
Atlanta is sending a guaranteed $150,000 in GAM plus up to $100,000 more in incentives. D.C. also retains a sell-on percentage if Berry is transferred.
“We’re pleased to add Miguel to the team and look forward to welcoming him to Atlanta,” technical director Carlos Bocanegra said in a release. “Miguel is an athletic forward with experience scoring goals in this league. He’ll add competition to our group and be able to join the team immediately to be available for selection this weekend.”
Berry contributed two goals in 30 matches (21 starts) last season with D.C. United and the Columbus Crew.
The Barcelona native has 10 goals and two assists in 48 games (30 starts) with D.C. and Columbus (2020-22).
