Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Victor Hedman has been ruled out for the Tuesday’s home game against the Philadelphia Flyers due to an undisclosed injury, coach Jon Cooper announced.
Hedman, 32, was injured early in the second period of Sunday’s 6-0 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes. The 2018 Norris Trophy recipient fell awkwardly into the boards following a hit by Hurricanes forward Andrei Svechnikov.
“I’d put him in that day-to-day category,” Cooper said of the 6-foot-7 Hedman.
Hedman, 32, has 42 points (six goals, 36 assists) in 60 games this season.
A two-time Stanley Cup champion, Hedman has totaled 645 points (140 goals, 505 assists) in 958 career games since being selected by the Lightning with the second overall pick of the 2009 NHL Draft.
