Canada’s Adam Svensson held a two-shot lead following the completion of the second round Saturday morning at The Players Championship in Ponta Vedra Beach, Fla.
Friday’s action was suspended due to inclement weather at 4:27 p.m. ET with 71 players still on the course. The second round at TPC Sawgrass was completed Saturday at 10:16 a.m. ET with 75 players making the cut at 2-over 146.
The third round began at 10:30 a.m. ET.
Svensson, playing in the event for the first time, posted a 5-under 67 to move to 9 under.
World No. 2 Scottie Scheffler is two shots back in solo second place after posting a 69.
Four players are tied for third at 6 under: Ben Griffin (71 in second round), Australia’s Min Woo Lee (70), Collin Morikawa (73) and South Africa’s Christiaan Bezuidenhout (70).
Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy, the 2019 Players champion, missed the cut for the sixth time in 13 starts at the tournament. He followed an opening-round 76 with a 73 to finish at 5 over.
Jerry Kelly, 56, became the oldest player ever to make the cut in this event. He was on the cut line at 2 over after a second-round 72.
