Montreal Canadiens captain Nick Suzuki drew a $2,500 fine on Friday for cross-checking Florida Panthers forward Anton Lundell the previous evening.
With 2:51 remaining in the Canadiens’ lopsided 9-5 loss Thursday in Sunrise, Fla., Suzuki drew a five-minute major penalty and a game misconduct after the scrum with Lundell.
Suzuki, 23, leads Montreal with 30 assists and 51 points in 69 games. His 21 goals match a season high, set in 82 games in 2021-22.
The Panthers set a franchise record with seven goals in the first period.
