Sacramento Kings guard Kevin Huerter is day-to-day with a right hamstring injury he sustained in Thursday’s win over the Brooklyn Nets, ESPN reported Friday.
Huerter’s agent, Mark Bartelstein of Priority Sports, told ESPN that Huerter underwent an MRI exam and no major damage was detected.
Huerter was injured midway through the first quarter after missing a layup and didn’t return.
Huerter, 24, was acquired from the Atlanta Hawks in the offseason and has put together a fine season for the Kings. He is averaging 15 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.9 assists and has drained a team-leading and career-best 180 3-point baskets.
The Kings’ 101-96 victory over the Nets clinched their first winning season since the 2005-06 campaign. Sacramento is 42-27 entering Saturday’s game against the host Washington Wizards. The Kings are in second place in the Western Conference entering Friday’s play.
