Dolphins star wide receiver Tyreek Hill is being investigated for an alleged assault in Miami, Local 10 News reported on Tuesday.
According to the report, Hill got into an argument with a charter company employee at a local marina on Sunday at around 6 p.m. local time. Hill ended up hitting that employee, and Miami-Dade police were seen at the marina on Monday before confirming Tuesday that they were investigating Hill.
It was not reported if the employee sustained any injuries. It also was unknown if Hill is facing any criminal charges or discipline from the Dolphins or the NFL.
Hill, 29, was also at the center of a criminal investigation back in 2019, when Overland Park (Kan.) police were called to his home following a report of child abuse or neglect involving his 3-year-old son. Police returned to Hill’s residence 10 days after that initial call to investigate a second report of child abuse.
Four months after those incidents, the NFL chose not to suspend Hill, stating that it had “conducted a comprehensive investigation” that found the seven-time Pro Bowl selection had not violated the personal conduct policy.
While at Oklahoma State in 2014, Hill was arrested on suspicion of domestic assault and battery. He later pled guilty to charges of domestic abuse and received three years of probation.
Hill is coming off his first season with the Dolphins after six years with the Kansas City Chiefs. He recorded career highs in receptions (119) and yards (1,710) to along with seven touchdowns across 17 games.
A seven-time Pro Bowl selection and four-time All-Pro, Hill has career totals of 598 catches for 8,340 yards and 63 touchdowns in 108 games (90 starts).
