Sporting Kansas City announced the return of Chilean midfielder Felipe Gutierrez on Thursday.
Gutierrez, 32, is signed through the end of the 2023 MLS season with a club option for 2024.
His MLS totals include 19 goals and seven assists in 64 matches (59 starts) with SKC (2018-19) and the Colorado Rapids (2022).
Gutierrez’s professional career also includes stops in the top flights in Spain, the Netherlands, Brazil and Chile.
He collected 35 caps for the Chilean national team, including appearances in the 2014 FIFA World Cup and a 2015 Copa America championship.
Sporting KC opened a roster slot by placing defender Kortne Ford on the season-ending injury list. Ford, 27, sustained a torn Achilles tendon in February.
