Vanderbilt hired assistant coach Brad Calipari, son of Kentucky coach John Calipari, for the role of director of on-court development.
“Brad is a talented young coach who has worked hard to prepare himself for this opportunity,” Vandy coach Jerry Stackhouse said Monday. “He is knowledgeable, high-energy and a strong communicator.”
Only three of a team’s assistant coaches are allowed to be involved in recruiting off-campus.
Brad Calipari, 26, was a walk-on at Kentucky, then transferred to Detroit before returning to Lexington as a graduate assistant in 2021-22.
