Mayhem pull level with Reign in OWL Summer Stage West

The Florida Mayhem beat the Atlanta Reign 3-1 on Friday, leaving the teams tied for first place in the Overwatch League Summer Stage qualifying.

Atlanta and Florida, both 11-2, are one game ahead of the Boston Uprising, who improved to 10-3 with a 3-0 sweep of the Los Angeles Valiant (1-12).

In the day’s other match, the London Spitfire (5-8) posted a 3-0 win over the Los Angeles Gladiators (5-6).

Summer Stage qualifiers in the West run through Sept. 4, with each team in the region playing a total of eight best-of-five matches. The top three teams will advance to the playoffs, while the fourth- through 10th-ranked squads will be sent to the play-ins.

On Friday, Florida opened with a 2-1 victory on Antarctic Peninsula before Atlanta pulled level with a 2-1 win on Eichenwalde. The Mayhem closed out the series with 1-0 victories on Dorado and Colosseo.

The Uprising topped the Valiant 2-0 on Busan, 2-1 on Midtown and 2-1 on Dorado.

The Spitfire cruised past the Gladiators 2-1 on Lijiang Tower, 2-1 on Midtown and 3-1 on Circuit Royal.

Summer Stage qualifying action in the West resumes on Saturday with three matches:
–Vancouver Titans vs. Washington Justice
–Boston Uprising vs. Atlanta Reign
–Vegas Eternal vs. Los Angeles Valiant
