New Orleans Saints running back Jamaal Williams will be activated from injured reserve and is expected to play in Thursday’s game against the visiting Jacksonville Jaguars, NFL Network reported.
Williams, who is listed as questionable for the game, has been idle since sustaining a hamstring injury late in the first half of a 20-17 victory over the Carolina Panthers on Sept 18.
Selected by Green Bay in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft, Williams spent four seasons with the Packers and two with the Detroit Lions. He rushed for 1,066 yards and a career-best and league-high 17 touchdowns in 2022.
Williams, 28, signed a three-year, $12 million deal with the Saints in March. He has rushed 27 times for 74 yards in two games this season.
