The Montreal Canadiens acquired center Jordan Weal from the Arizona Coyotes on Monday for center Michael Chaput. Weal has split the season with Arizona and Philadelphia, registering four goals and seven assists in 47 combined games. In 153 career games with the Los Angeles Kings, Flyers and Coyotes, Weal has scored 44 points (20 goals, 24 assists). Chaput appeared in 32 games in his first season with Montreal and collected five assists. In 167 games with the Columbus Blue Jackets, Vancouver Canucks and Canadiens, he has contributed 22 points (six goals, 16 assists).
