Jackson State stuns Missouri 73-72 for first victory

Chase Adams hit the game-winning shot with 3 seconds left to lift previously winless Jackson State to a 73-72 upset Missouri on Sunday in Columbia, Mo.

After Nick Honor made 1 of 2 free throws to put Missouri ahead 72-71, Adams answered with his winning mid-range jumper. Sean East II pushed the ball back downcourt for Missouri, but he lost the ball in the lane as time expired.

Missouri turned the ball over seven times in the first 9:08 of the game as Jackson State pushed its advantage to 18-13.

Noah Carter scored in the post and hit a 3-pointer jumper off Carralero Martin’s pass to establish a 26-20 lead.

After Evans and O’Neal helped Jackson State move ahead 32-31, Missouri answered with a 6-0 run with East, Carter and Robinson scoring in the paint.
