Jordan Love, Packers hold off Chiefs for 3rd straight win

Jordan Love completed 25 of 36 passes for 267 yards and three touchdowns, and the Green Bay Packers held on for a 27-19 win over the visiting Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday evening.

Christian Watson caught seven passes for 71 yards and two touchdowns for Green Bay (6-6), which won its third game in a row. Ben Sims also had a receiving touchdown.

Patrick Mahomes completed 21 of 33 passes for 210 yards, one touchdown and one interception for Kansas City (8-4). Noah Gray had a receiving touchdown and Isiah Pacheco had a rushing touchdown.

The Chiefs cut their deficit to 21-19 with 14:51 to play in the fourth quarter. Mahomes fired a low pass to Gray, who secured the ball for a 2-yard touchdown reception.

A 40-yard field goal by Anders Carlson increased Green Bay’s lead to 24-19 with 6:03 remaining.

Carlson then made it 27-19 when he booted a 48-yard field goal with 1:09 left.

The Chiefs attempted to put together a game-winning drive, but Mahomes’ final heave toward tight end Travis Kelce fell incomplete among a crowd of players to end the game.

Kansas City pulled within 14-12 on a 1-yard touchdown run by Pacheco with 9:39 remaining in the third quarter. He took a handoff and sprinted left to score standing up for his sixth rushing touchdown of the season, topping his total of five from his rookie campaign in 2022.

Green Bay pulled ahead 21-12 with 5:23 to go in the third quarter. Love connected with Watson for Watson’s second touchdown of the game, this time from 12 yards out, as the second-year receiver made a leaping grab in the back of the end zone.

The Packers opened the scoring with a touchdown on their first possession to grab a 7-0 lead. Love rolled right and found Sims for a 1-yard score to cap a 13-play, 75-yard drive.

The Chiefs cut the deficit to 7-3 at the end of the first quarter. Harrison Butker made a 34-yard field goal as time expired.

Green Bay made it 14-3 on its following drive. Watson got open in the middle of the end zone and caught a 9-yard pass from Love.

Kansas City pulled within 14-6 on a 34-yard field goal by Butker with 2:19 left before halftime.
