The Denver Nuggets said forward Aaron Gordon is in good condition following a Christmas Day dog bite.
The team said Wednesday that Gordon, 28, is recovering from lacerations to his face and shooting hand, his right. The Athletic reported Gordon required 21 stitches.
The Nuggets said he will remain away from the team during his recovery. Denver hosts Memphis on Thursday night.
Gordon had 16 points and 10 rebounds in the Nuggets’ 120-114 home win over Golden State on Christmas Day.
He is averaging 13.6 points, 6.9 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 28 starts this season for the defending NBA champions.
