Pacers overwhelm Hawks with offensive firepower

Myles Turner scored 27 points and Tyrese Haliburton added 10 points with 18 assists as the Indiana Pacers leaned into their high-powered offense to earn a 150-116 victory over the visiting Atlanta Hawks on Friday at Indianapolis.

Bennedict Mathurin scored 18 points and Bruce Brown had 17 as the Pacers had eight players score in double figures while increasing their season-best winning streak to six games.

Indiana had a franchise-best 50 assists, including 10 from T.J. McConnell, who also had 10 points. The Pacers went 60 of 94 from the field (63.8 percent) and made 19 of 39 attempts from 3-point range (48.7 percent).

Aaron Nesmith had 15 points before departing in the third quarter with an ankle injury as the Pacers scored at least 140 points in a victory for the eighth time this season. Indiana entered with an NBA-best 124.8 points per game.

It was the Pacers’ fifth game all time with at least 150 points.

Dejounte Murray scored 30 points for the Hawks on 13-of-19 shooting from the floor (68.4 percent). Atlanta entered with consecutive victories but gave up at least 150 for the second time in a loss to Indiana this season.

Bogdan Bogdanovic scored 16 points and Trae Young added 13 on just 4-of-18 shooting. Young opened the game 0 of 7 from the field and finished 1 of 11 from 3-point range.

Nothing changed in the second half as the Pacers opened their first 30-point lead with 9:35 remaining in the third quarter on a 3-pointer from Haliburton. Indiana reached the 100-point mark on a Turner free throw with 6:31 remaining in the third.
