Three-time Stanley Cup-winning goaltender Jonathan Quick has agreed to terms on a one-year contract extension with the New York Rangers, the team announced Sunday.
The contract terms were for $1,275,000, according to the NHL Network.
Quick, 38, owns a 13-5-2 record with two shutouts, a 2.45 goals-against average and .916 save percentage in 21 games (20 starts) this season. The Connecticut native is playing in his first season with the Rangers after splitting the 2022-23 campaign with the Los Angeles Kings, Columbus Blue Jackets and Vegas Golden Knights.
He was traded along with a pair of draft picks from the Kings to the Columbus Blue Jackets on March 1, 2023, for defenseman Vladislav Gavrikov and goaltender Joonas Korpisalo.
Quick was traded the following day by the Blue Jackets to the Golden Knights in exchange for a seventh-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft and goaltender Michael Hutchinson. He signed a one-year, $825,000 contract with the Rangers on July 1.
Quick is the Kings’ all-time leader in goalie wins (370), save percentage (minimum 70 games played) at .911 and shutouts (57). He was the netminder for the club’s two Stanley Cup championships (2012, 2014). He also was a member of the Golden Knights’ Stanley Cup championship team last season.
In his 17th NHL season, Quick ranks second in career wins (388) and fourth in games played (774) among United States-born goaltenders, according to the Rangers.
