Sebastian Aho and Andrei Svechnikov each produced a goal and two assists as the Carolina Hurricanes blew out the Calgary Flames 7-2 on Sunday at Raleigh, N.C.

Jordan Martinook, Jalen Chatfield, Brent Burns, Seth Jarvis and Teuvo Teravainen also had goals for the Hurricanes, who won their third game in a row and fifth game in their last six. Chatfield, Teravainen and Jarvis also had assists, and Jordan Staal and Jesperi Kotkaniemi provided two assists apiece.

Carolina goalie Frederik Andersen, who made 17 saves, improved to 2-0 since returning from an absence of more than four months because of a blood clotting issue.

The Hurricanes scored six times on 30 shots through two periods.

It was 4-0 before the Flames scored. Dryden Hunt and Yegor Sharangovich had the Calgary goals. Dan Vladar went the distance in the nets for the Flames, recording 33 saves.

Defenseman Jaccob Slavin became the franchise’s all-time leader for points among defensemen with 259 (47 goals, 212 assists). He had a second-period assist, surpassing Justin Faulk.

After Martinook began the scoring with his 11th goal, Aho’s 25th of the season made it 2-0 late in the first period. The Flames had only two shots on goal through the first 20 minutes.

Chatfield’s sixth goal of the season came 17 seconds into the second period. and Svechnikov, just 58 seconds later, posted his 16th of the season.

Hunt put the Flames on the board 4:11 into the second with his third goal, before Carolina cranked up again.

Burns notched a goal for the first time in nine games for his 10th of the season, extending the Hurricanes’ lead to 5-1. Jarvis scored his 20th with 34 seconds to play in the second period.

Sharangovich picked up his 27th goal with an unassisted effort 4:54 into the third period after Andersen misplayed the puck.

The outcome avenged Carolina’s 3-2 road loss from Dec. 7.

The Flames had won six of seven games before falling in lopsided results on back-to-back days. They lost 5-1 at Florida on Saturday.
