The Colorado Rockies placed veteran Kris Bryant on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with a low back strain.
The 32-year-old designated hitter/infielder/outfielder’s designation is retroactive to Sunday.
Bryant is batting just .149 through 13 games this season with one home run, six RBIs and 18 strikeouts.
A four-time All-Star and the 2016 National League MVP with the Chicago Cubs, Bryant is a career .274 hitter with 183 homers and 538 RBIs in 1,019 games with the Cubs (2015-21), San Francisco Giants (2021) and Rockies.
Colorado recalled outfielder Sean Bouchard from Triple-A Albuquerque in a corresponding move. In 14 games for the Isotopes this season, he is batting .315 with a home run and 13 RBIs.
