Former five-star recruit Omaha Biliew has transferred to Wake Forest after experiencing a disappointing freshman campaign at Iowa State.
Biliew, a forward, confirmed his decision to On3.
The 6-foot-8 Biliew was the highest-ranked high school player to ever sign with the Cyclones. His arrival was trumpeted even more because he was a native of nearby Waukee, Iowa. He also was a McDonald’s All-American.
But Biliew never got on track for the Cyclones, who went 29-8 and reached the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.
He averaged 2.4 points and 1.3 rebounds in 20 games off the bench. Biliew played just 149 minutes and only two in the NCAA Tournament, that coming at the end of a comfortable first-round win over South Dakota State.
The Iowa state high school player of the year in 2022-23 announced his departure from Iowa State on March 31.
