Defender Zan Kolmanic will be sticking around Austin for another year.
Kolmanic, 24, agreed to a contract extension with Austin FC that will keep him in Texas through the end of the 2025 season, with an option for 2026, the team announced Friday.
“Having been with Austin FC since the team’s first-ever match, I feel proud to represent this city and this clubhe said. “The community, coaching staff, and my teammates made me feel welcome here since the very beginning, and the decision to stay in Austin was an easy one.”
A native of Slovenia, Kolmanic has notched seven assists in 65 appearances across all competitions with the Verde and Black. He has one assist in five matches (three starts) this season.
“Zan is a good professional who works hard on a daily basis toward improving himself for the benefit of the team,” Austin FC sporting director Rodolfo Borrell said.
