Brazil will host the 2027 Women’s World Cup, the FIFA Congress voted Friday in Bangkok, Thailand.
Members chose Brazil over a joint bid by Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands.
The United States and Mexico withdrew their joint bid last month with an eye toward 2031.
Brazil has never hosted a Women’s World Cup but was the site of the men’s event in 1950 and 2014.
The exact dates have not been confirmed for the 2027 tournament. Spain is the defending champion after defeating England 1-0 in the final last August in Sydney, Australia.
