Jordi Alba had a goal and two assists to help Inter Miami earn a 3-3 draw against St. Louis City on Saturday in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez also scored for Miami (10-3-5, 35 points), which improved to 7-1-4 over its past 12 league matches.
St. Louis received goals by Chris Durkin and Indiana Vassilev and got an own goal by Suarez. St. Louis (3-4-8, 17 points) snapped a three-match skid.
A Saurez own goal gave St. Louis a 3-2 lead in the 68th minute. Eduard Lowen’s corner directed off Suarez’s head and past Drake Callender.
Julian Gressel assisted Alba’s goal, which tied it 3-3 in the 85th. Alba was initially ruled offside, but VAR determined it was a good goal.
Miami controlled the first-half possession but the two sides were tied 2-2 heading into the second half.
St. Louis opened the scoring in the 15th minute as Durkin put his right-footed strike past Callender off a set piece.
Messi responded for Miami in the 25th minute, completing a give-and-go with Alba and putting a left-footed strike past Roman Burki for his 12th tally of the season.
St. Louis retook the lead in the 41st minute as Vassilev took a through ball from Hosei Kijima and beat Callendar with a right-footed strike for his second of the season.
Suarez tied it at 2-2 in first-half stoppage time, tapping in a cross from Alba for his 12th of the season.
St. Louis and Inter Miami have met only once previously, with St. Louis earning a 3-0 win in its inaugural season in 2023.
