FC Cincinnati center back Matt Miazga will miss the rest of the season following knee surgery.
The 2023 MLS Defender of the Year was injured on June 15 at San Jose when he slid into the post on a goal-saving challenge.
The club announced Wednesday that Miazga underwent successful reconstructive surgery of his posterior cruciate ligament and meniscus. He is expected to rejoin Cincinnati for preseason training in 2025.
Miazga, 28, started 16 matches this season. He has three goals and four assists in 87 career MLS matches (83 starts) with the New York Red Bulls (2013-15) and FCC.
