Pittsburgh Pirates right-hander Daulton Jefferies was placed on the 15-day injured list on Saturday due to discomfort in his pitching elbow.
In a corresponding move, right-hander Ryder Ryan was recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis.
Jefferies, 28, has a 6.30 ERA in four relief appearances since joining the Pirates in a May 10 trade with the San Francisco Giants.
In parts of four seasons with the Oakland Athletics (2020-22), Giants (2023-24) and Pirates, Jefferies — an A’s first-round pick in 2016 — is 2-10 with a 6.59 ERA in 20 games (11 starts).
Ryan, 29, is 1-0 with a 3.46 ERA in 11 relief appearances with the Pirates this season. Ryan made his major league debut with the Seattle Mariners last season, appearing in one game.
