The Washington Spirit signed rookie defender Waniya Hudson to a one-year deal through the end of the 2024 season.
Earlier this season, she was a training player with NJ/NY Gotham FC.
Hudson played five seasons (2019-23) with Notre Dame, which included four NCAA Tournament appearances, before turning pro.
“Waniya will be a great addition to this team and provide valuable depth to our roster,” general manager Mark Krikorian said. “We’re thrilled to welcome her to the club this week.”
The Spirit (7-3-0, 21 points) are in third place in the league. Their next match is a home game Friday against the Seattle Reign.
