The Baltimore Orioles traded for Chicago White Sox outfielder/designated hitter Eloy Jimenez on Tuesday, multiple sources reported.
Baltimore’s return in the deal is so far unknown.
Injuries have hampered Jimenez across his six-year career. He has never played in over 122 games in a season. Jimenez has missed time this year because of a strained left adductor and a left hamstring strain.
In 65 games this season for the major league-worst White Sox, Jimenez is hitting .240 with five home runs and 16 RBIs.
Jimenez finished fourth in Rookie of the Year voting in 2019 and won a Silver Slugger Award in the COVID-shortened 2020 season.
He is a career .270 hitter with 94 home runs and 291 RBIs across 501 games, all with the White Sox.
