The Washington Nationals are calling up highly touted outfielder Dylan Crews to make his major league debut on Monday against the New York Yankees, multiple outlets reported Friday.
Crews was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2023 draft out of LSU and is currently ranked as the No. 3 overall prospect by MLB Pipeline.
He is batting .272 with 13 homers, 68 RBIs and 25 stolen bases in 99 games this season between Double-A Harrisburg and Triple-A Rochester. He participated in the All-Star Futures Game on July 13 in Arlington, Texas.
Crews, 22, has a .277 batting average and an .811 OPS with 18 home runs, 97 RBIs and 29 steals in 134 games in the minors over the past two seasons.
Crews received a $9 million signing bonus after winning the Golden Spikes Award in 2023 as the nation’s top amateur player. He was a two-time consensus All-American and two-time SEC Player of the Year at LSU in 2022 and 2023.
