The Cleveland Guardians purchased the contract of left-hander Anthony Gose from Triple-A Columbus and optioned left-handed starter Logan Allen to Triple-A.
Gose, 34, had one appearance with the Guardians earlier this season, giving up two runs over 1 1/3 innings. The former major league outfielder with the Toronto Blue Jays and Detroit Tigers from 2012-16 has 29 career pitching appearances for the Guardians since 2021 with a 4.34 ERA.
Allen, 25, is 8-5 with a 5.73 ERA over 20 starts for Cleveland this season and is 15-13 with a 4.65 ERA in 44 career starts for the Guardians over the past two seasons.
