The Miami Marlins placed utility player Vidal Brujan on the 10-day injured list on Saturday because of a right shoulder AC joint sprain.
In other moves, the Marlins selected the contract of infielder Jose Devers from Triple-A Jacksonville, and designated rookie left-hander Jonathan Bermudez for assignment.
Brujan, 26, last played on Friday at shortstop in the Marlins’ 3-1 road loss to the San Francisco Giants. He is batting .224 with 14 doubles, two home runs and 16 RBIs in 98 games. Brujan has played second base, shortstop, third base, all three outfield positions and pitcher this season.
He is a career .190 hitter with 21 doubles, five homers and 40 RBIs in 197 games over parts of four seasons for the Tampa Bay Rays (2021-23) and Marlins.
Devers, 24, was hitting .244 with three homers and 20 RBIs in 64 games for Miami’s Triple-A, Single-A and Rookie League affiliates this season. He played in 21 games for Miami in 2021 and batted .244 (10-for-41).
Bermudez, 28, made his major league debut on Tuesday and allowed two runs and six hits with no walks and three strikeouts in 3 2/3 innings of a 9-8 road victory over the Colorado Rockies for a 4.91 ERA.
