The Minnesota Twins placed infielder Jose Miranda on the 10-day injured list Saturday with a low back strain.
With two games left in their season, the Twins also recalled right-hander Diego Castillo and utility player Michael Helman and optioned left-hander Kody Funderburk.
Miranda, 26, batted a career-best .284 with nine homers and 49 RBIs in 121 games this season.
Castillo, 30, has no decisions and a 2.25 ERA in six relief appearances this season for Minnesota.
Helman, 28, made his MLB debut on Sept. 3 and is 3-for-8 with two doubles and two runs in seven games.
Funderburk, 27, posted a 1-0 record with one save and a 6.49 ERA in 27 relief appearances this season.
