Miami Dolphins running back De’Von Achane has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday’s game against the New England Patriots after sustaining a head injury in the first quarter.
Quarterback Tyler Huntley flipped the ball to Achane on an end-around, with the latter rushing for a gain of 12 on the play. He took a hard hit near the sideline, and his head slammed against the turf with three minutes left in the opening quarter.
Trainers then took Achane to the blue medical tent to evaluate him for a concussion.
Prior to exiting, Achane had 18 yards on three carries.
Achane, 22, entered Sunday with 165 yards and one touchdown on 53 carries in four games (three starts) this season.
