Los Angeles Clippers guard James Harden moved into sole possession of second place on the NBA’s all-time made 3-pointers list in the first quarter of Sunday’s home game against the Utah Jazz at Inglewood, Calif.
Harden’s first 3-pointer of the game, with 6:09 remaining in the quarter, gave him 2,974 for his career to move out of a tie with Ray Allen. Current Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry is atop the list at 3,782.
Heading into Sunday’s game, Harden had made 36.3 percent of his 3-point attempts over 16 seasons with the Oklahoma City Thunder (2009-12), Houston Rockets (2012-20), Brooklyn Nets (2020-2022), Philadelphia 76ers (2022-23) and Clippers.
Harden has averaged 24.1 points throughout 1,085 career games since being drafted third overall in 2009 by the Thunder out of Arizona State.
