Tyrese Haliburton helps Pacers top Bulls, end 4-game skid

Pacers, Bulls

Tyrese Haliburton scored 23 points and Pascal Siakam added 21 as the Indiana Pacers snapped a four-game skid with a 132-123 win over the host Chicago Bulls on Friday.

Haliburton hit 5 of 9 3-pointers and finished with eight assists. Siakam hit 3 of 5 from beyond the arc for the Pacers, who had lost eight in a row on the road.

Obi Toppin and T.J. McConnell contributed 17 points apiece off the bench in the win.

Zach LaVine scored 32 points, including 5 of 9 from 3-point range, and Coby White chipped in 19 points and nine assists for Chicago.

The Bulls hit 21 of 50 from the 3-point range — the fifth time this season they have taken at least 50 attempts in a game.

Indiana took control in the second quarter, outsourcing Chicago 36-19 before holding off Chicago in the second half.

White, Ayo Dosunmu and Matas Buzelis each hit a pair of 3-pointers as Chicago knocked down 9 of 17 from beyond the arc and led 35-31 after the first quarter.

The Pacers seized the upper hand in the second quarter, dominating the Bulls at both ends.

Indiana went on an 18-3 run, hitting eight shots without a miss during the stretch, to turn a 41-38 deficit into a 56-44 lead with 5:09 left in the first half.

The Pacers increased their cushion to 72-56 in the third quarter before LaVine got on a roll.

The two-time All-Star poured in 16 points in the quarter to fuel Chicago’s revival.

Indiana’s advantage was slashed to 103-100 when the Bulls began the fourth quarter with a 7-0 rush in less than a minute. Dosunmu capped the run with a steal and he assisted on Julian Phillips’ acrobatic slam. The Pacers called a timeout and restored control through Haliburton, who scored eight points on 3-of-4 shooting from the floor in the final quarter.
