Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Petr Mrazek will miss time after sustaining a lower-body injury in the first period of a 4-2 loss to the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday.
Mrazek got banged up following a save near the post in the opening frame, left the game and did not return. He stopped all four shots he faced prior to his departure.
Blackhawks interim coach Anders Sorensen said that his goalie will be “out for a little bit.”
Mrazek, 32, is 7-11-1 this season with a 2.83 goals-against average and a .906 save percentage.
With backup goaltender Laurent Brossoit already on injured reserve because of a knee injury that required surgery, Arvid Soderblom is in line to take over in between the pipes for Chicago.
