Auburn forward/center Johni Broome, one of the top players in the country, was injured two minutes into the second-ranked Tigers’ home game against Georgia State on Tuesday night.
After making a layup at one end of the court and blocking a shot at the other, Broome subbed out for Chaney Johnson. He left for the locker room and during a media timeout, he was seen on the bench in a hoodie with ice on his right shoulder.
According to the Auburn radio broadcast, Broome will be reevaluated at halftime.
The 6-foot-10 fifth-year player is leading the country with 12.7 rebounds per game, and he leads the SEC with 2.8 blocks per contest. He’s second in the SEC in scoring (19.7 ppg) and also averages nearly 3.8 assists per game.
