Stephen Curry added to his 3-point-shooting lore Thursday night, making all eight of his attempts for the first time in his career as the Golden State Warriors routed the Philadelphia 76ers 139-105 in San Francisco.
Curry finished with 30 points and 10 assists on a night when he became the first in NBA history to go at least 8-for-8 on 3-pointers and compile double-digit assists on the same night. The NBA record of 9-for-9 is shared by Latrell Sprewell, Ben Gordon (twice) and Jalen Brunson.
Jonathan Kuminga chipped in with 20 points off the bench, while Draymond Green, Andrew Wiggins and Dennis Schroder had 15 apiece for the Warriors, who took advantage of a Philadelphia team playing the second night of a road back-to-back to get an early jump en route to a runaway win.
Joel Embiid, who sat out Philadelphia’s 113-107 loss at Sacramento on Wednesday that ended the 76ers’ four-game winning streak, returned to pace the team with 28 points and 14 rebounds.
Thunder 116, Clippers 98
Oklahoma City earned its 13th consecutive victory — and longest winning streak since the franchise moved from Seattle — by beating visiting Los Angeles.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 29 points and Jalen Williams added 18 to help the Thunder move within one win of the franchise’s all-time longest winning streak. The 1995-96 Seattle SuperSonics notched 14 straight wins.
The Clippers’ leading scorer this season, Norman Powell, missed his first 10 shots and didn’t connect until four minutes into the fourth. The shooting guard finished with a season-low six points on 1-of-11 shooting. Amir Coffey led Los Angeles with a season-high 26 points.
Lakers 114, Trail Blazers 106
LeBron James scored 38 points and dished eight assists and Max Christie added a career-high 28 points as Los Angeles overcame the absence of Anthony Davis to beat visiting Portland.
Austin Reaves registered 15 points and 11 assists as the Lakers won for the sixth time in their past eight games. Davis was a late scratch due to a left ankle sprain.
Anfernee Simons scored 23 points, while Shaedon Sharpe and Deni Avdija each added 19 as the Trail Blazers lost for the 10th time in their past 13 games. Portland dropped its eighth consecutive road game.
Pacers 128, Heat 115
Tyrese Haliburton combined 33 points with a season-high 15 assists without a turnover to steer Indiana to a convincing win over host Miami.
Haliburton set the tone with a 16-point, five-assist first quarter. In three meetings with Miami this season, Haliburton has 36 assists and one turnover. Myles Turner scored 21 points for the Pacers, and Pascal Siakam posted 18 points and 11 rebounds.
Rookie Kel’el Ware contributed a career-best 25 points on 9-of-11 shooting and added three blocks in 21 minutes off the bench for the Heat. Bam Adebayo finished with 20 points and eight rebounds.
Celtics 118, Timberwolves 115
Jayson Tatum scored 33 points, grabbed eight rebounds and dished nine assists, and Boston held on to defeat Minnesota in Minneapolis.
Derrick White added 26 points for the Celtics, who won their second game in a row. Boston was without starters Jaylen Brown (right shoulder strain) and Kristaps Porzingis (sprained left ankle).
Julius Randle had 27 points, eight rebounds and seven assists to lead Minnesota. Naz Reid finished with 20 points off the bench, and Jaden McDaniels scored 19.
Nets 113, Bucks 110
Cameron Johnson scored 26 points and Cam Thomas added 24 as Brooklyn withstood a furious fourth-quarter rally to beat host Milwaukee.
The Nets led 111-90 with 6:55 remaining before missing their next 12 shots. Damian Lillard scored five straight points to cap a 20-0 run with 37.4 seconds remaining. The Nets’ Ziaire Williams sank two foul shots to make it a three-point game. Lillard missed a 3-point attempt on the Bucks’ next possession. Milwaukee had one final chance with 0.6 seconds left, but Lillard’s 35-foot shot fell short.
Nic Claxton had 16 points and 11 rebounds for Brooklyn, which won the season series against the Bucks 3-1. Giannis Antetokounmpo led Milwaukee with 27 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists. Lillard contributed 23 points and seven assists.
