The Detroit Lions activated linebacker Alex Anzalone off injured reserve on Saturday and the standout team captain will return for Sunday’s NFC showdown against the Minnesota Vikings.
Anzalone broke his left forearm in a game against the Jacksonville in Week 11 and has missed the past six games.
Detroit also activated receiver/returner Kalif Raymond (foot) from injured reserve. He sat out the last five games.
Anzalone, 30, will wear a cast on his arm against the Vikings. He was listed as questionable for the game on Friday.
Anzalone has 56 tackles — seven for loss — in nine games this season. He had a career-best 129 tackles in 2023 and 125 in 2022.
Raymond, 30, also is listed as questionable for the contest.
He has 16 receptions for 204 yards and two touchdowns in 11 games (two starts) this season. Raymond is averaging a stellar 14.4 yards per punt return and returned one 90 yards for a touchdown in Week 7 against the Tennessee Titans.
Raymond has a career average of 11.0 yards per punt return and has scored two touchdowns on 153 punts over eight NFL seasons with the five teams. He is in his fourth season with the Lions.
Detroit also placed cornerback Emmanuel Moseley (illness) on the non-football illness list on Saturday. He was previously ruled out of the contest.
