The Chicago Fire acquired defender Sam Rogers from Norwegian first-division side Lillestrom SK on Monday.
Transfer terms were not disclosed. Rogers, 25, is under contract through 2026 and Chicago holds club options for 2027 and 2028.
“Reinforcing the backline has been a priority for us during this transfer window, and Sam will bring added competition and depth to the center back position,” Fire head coach and director of football Gregg Berhalter said in a news release. “We’re excited to have him on board and look forward to his contributions to the team.”
Rogers played for the Tacoma Defiance (2017-20) and Oklahoma City Energy (2021) before heading overseas.
The Seattle native made his debut with the U.S. men’s national team in a January 2023 friendly against Colombia.
