The Houston Dash acquired veteran goalkeeper Abby Smith from NJ/NY Gotham FC on Friday.
Gotham receives $20,000 in intra-league transfer funds in exchange for the two-time NWSL champion.
Smith, 31, has recorded 14 clean sheets in 60 career NWSL matches.
“The organization is thrilled to add a veteran like Abby to the roster and bolster our goalkeeping corps for the upcoming season,” Dash president Angela Hucles Mangano said. “Her success is a testament to her character and competitive spirit, which will be key in shaping a new culture in Houston that strives for sustained success.”
Smith won NWSL championships with the Portland Thorns in 2022 and Gotham in 2023.
