Unbeaten UCLA remained atop The Associated Press Top 25 women’s basketball poll released Monday, with No. 2 South Carolina hot on the Bruins’ heels.
The Gamecocks (18-1) have won 13 straight games since losing to UCLA (17-0) on Nov. 24, including three straight double-digit wins against ranked opponents.
South Carolina picked up one first-place vote in this week’s rankings, with 27 votes going to the Bruins and two to No. 3 Notre Dame (16-2).
The top eight teams were unchanged this week, with No. 4 Southern California (17-1) and unbeaten No. 5 LSU (20-0) followed by UConn (17-2), Texas (17-2) and Maryland (16-1). No. 9 TCU (19-1) and No. 10 Kansas State (19-1) each moved up one spot.
