No. 8 Tennessee will be without guard Zakai Zeigler in its game against No. 5 Florida on Saturday afternoon in Knoxville, Tenn.
Zeigler sustained a right knee injury during the Volunteers’ 78-73 loss against No. 12 Kentucky on Tuesday.
Per Tennessee, Zeigler’s status is “day-to-day moving forward and he will continue to be evaluated.”
Jordan Gainey likely will be elevated into the starting lineup in place of Zeigler, who is averaging 12.3 points along with a team-leading 7.4 assists and 2.1 steals in 21 games this season.
Gainey is averaging 10.8 points off the bench for the Volunteers (17-4, 4-4 Southeastern Conference), who have lost four of their past seven games — a stretch that began with a 73-43 setback at Florida on Jan. 7.
