Incredible rally gives Tundra Esports Fissure Playground title

esports, fans

Tundra Esports pulled off a stunning comeback on Sunday to capture a 3-2 victory over Team Falcons in the grand final of the $1 million Fissure Playground #1 event in Belgrade, Serbia.

It looked like Team Falcons had the title all wrapped up after they jumped out to a 2-0 lead thanks to a 67-minute victory on red and a 50-minute win on green. Tundra Esports came roaring back, though, prevailing in 44 minutes on green, in 25 minutes on red and in 30 minutes on green to shock Team Falcons.

Bulgaria’s Bozhidar “bzm” Bogdanov headlined Tundra’s impressive victory with averages of 9.4 kills, 3.8 deaths and 9.4 assists.

The Dota tournament began on Jan. 24 with 16 teams competing in the group stage. The top eight teams moved on to the double-elimination playoffs. All playoff matches were best-of-three except for the grand final, which was best-of-five. Tundra Esports walked away with $400,000.

Team Falcons reached the grand final by blanking PARIVISION 2-0 earlier Sunday.
