Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Nolan Smith Jr. underwent surgery to repair a torn triceps earlier in the week but is expected to be ready for the start of the 2025 season, multiple media outlets reported.
Smith appeared to sustain the injury while chasing Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes during the Eagles’ 40-22 victory over the Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX on Feb. 9 in New Orleans.
Smith, 24, recorded 6.5 sacks to go along with 42 tackles, two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble in 16 games (10 starts) last season.
He has 60 tackles and 7.5 sacks in 33 career games (10 starts) since being selected by the Eagles with the 30th overall pick of the 2023 NFL Draft out of Georgia.
