The Longhorns (26-2) have a 10-game winning streak and claimed 19 of the 31 first-place ballots in Monday’s poll. Texas last held the top spot on Feb. 16, 2004.

Former No. 1 Notre Dame (24-3) slipped two places after Sunday’s 104-95 double-overtime loss to North Carolina State (22-5), which vaulted four spots to No. 9.

Eleven first-place votes went to No. 2 UCLA (26-1) and one to No. 4 Southern California (25-2).

No. 5 UConn (26-3), No. 6 South Carolina (25-3) and No. 7 LSU (27-2) held steady. No. 8 North Carolina (25-4) rose one spot and No. 10 TCU (26-3) followed the Wolfpack.
