Texas Rangers outfielder Adolis Garcia will undergo an MRI after complaining of soreness in his left oblique.
Garcia was scratched from Tuesday’s spring training game against the Athletics due to the injury.
“He’s going to miss a little bit of time, we’re hoping not much,” Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said. “I can’t tell you (how long) until we get the results from the MRI.”
An ailing oblique is nothing new for Garcia, who saw his World Series run in 2023 cut short by the injury.
Garcia, 32, batted .224 with 25 homers and 85 RBIs in 154 games last season.
A two-time All-Star, Garcia is a career .239 hitter with 122 homers and 384 RBIs in 631 games.
