Micah Peavy hit five 3-pointers and scored 19 points and Jordan Burks had 14 points as Georgetown (17-13, 8-11 Big East) swept the Wildcats in a two-game regular-season series for the first time since 1992-93.

Dixon ended the Hoyas’ spurt with two free throws. Burks made a layup on the other end to get Georgetown to within 71-69 with 1:58 left. Two Jayden Epps free throws tied the game at 71-all with 1:13 to go, and Burks gave the Hoyas a 73-71 lead with 37 seconds left before Jhamir Brickus tied it at 73 nine seconds later.

Early in the second half, Georgetown built a nine-point lead, but Dixon led Villanova back. The Hoyas were up 46-37 with 13:57 remaining after a Peavy 3-pointer. Wooga Poplar responded with 3-pointer before Dixon scored Villanova’s next 13 points.

Georgetown started the second half on an 8-0 run to take a 37-29 lead after a Peavy 3-pointer. Dixon responded on the other end with his first basket of the game, a 3-pointer with 18:04 remaining to bring Villanova.

The game was tied at 29 at the half.

Dixon, came into Tuesday after back-to-back 30-plus point games, finished 8 of 19 from the field.
